Stanley 3-inch Stud Sensor is a detecting tool that identifies the studs or beams behind the walls, ceilings or wooden surfaces. The 3-inch Stud Sensor consists of multiple sensor plates that can scan for studs up to the depth of 3 inches. While detecting the studs, the Stud Sensor need not be placed on the wall and rather detects using a specific algorithm.

The Stud sensor is built with sequential LEDs and beep sounds to indicate the detection of studs. The marking channel in the stud sensor identifies the studs easily and makes the detection accurate and precise. The backlight is provided along with an LCD in the stud sensor for convenient readings in a dark environment.
